Dear Autocrosser:
We are sorry for the abrupt ending at the June 7th
autocross. Obviously, the situation was beyond our control.
The Sleepy Hollow officials would not listen to reason and
let us finish the second run. We were about half through it
when the mayor shut us down, We would have needed less than
an hour to get it in, which would have then made it an
official autocross. The event was going real well at that
point and I'm sure, if we had a full day, we could have had
at least four runs even with about 100 entries. The course
was a long and interesting one and it was obvious that the
chairs, Art Swartz and Chris Caram, put a lot of work into
it.
We thank all those who did not take a full refund, or any
refund at all. It lessened the economic blow WSCC took.
(Fixed costs that had to still be paid included the
Port-A-John, insurance and mailing costs.) We do appreciate
your efforts. WSCC is still trying to hold the line on entry
fees despite losing what should have been a very profitable
day. We hope to see you again at future WSCC events.
Yours truly,
