Event Recap:
We got off to a smooth start, first car was ready to go at 10:20 AM. All the accounting related to the Challenge Cup
was done and things were going too well. The only thing at this point that went wrong was a missing cable from the timer
to the computer. A local store should have a replacement though. This came to an abrupt halt when the computer crashed
after about 15 runs. It wasn't a simple reboot-it and get the event going crash either. The power supply in the
laptop was gone. As luck would have it, we had a backup computer, unfortunatly none of the registration
information was in that computer. We started to rekey all the participants as well as their times, while running the
event on paper. By the beginning of the second heat we started to use the computer for live times, while still hand
keying the first heat. We eventually caught up and the rest of the event went pretty well. The rain held out and we
only had a couple of glitches related to using the backup computer.
