A Personal Message to all of our Rally Enthusiasts:
Many of you have come up to us after a rally and told us that you had some idea or possible inclination to participate in putting on a rally. I would like to take this opportunity to invite you to become a member of the Westchester Sports Car Club and take part in our organization. I can tell you that putting on a rally is a lot of work, but it can be very rewarding when everything comes together and the event goes off well.
We have had a core group who have been putting on the rallys over the past few years. Next year, we will have opportunities for new people to step up and become Rally Masters or help with the events. A summer rally, a daytime rally, a Columbus rally are some possibilities. If you have an urge to get involved in any way, we would love it. We have members who have already said that they would be very willing to help in any way- to work with you to design the route, cold run, score, etc. So, if you would like to give it at try, now is the perfect time! We do require that you be a WSCC member, but for a small membership fee, you not only get discounts on all rally and autocross registration fees, you also get to participate in our annual picnic, Awards Dinner, and other fun recreational events. We also have club meetings the second Wednesday of each month (except January, when we have our Awards Dinner) at Tino's Restaurant in Elmsford on Route 9A. All are welcome to come to the meetings and enjoy the camaraderie.
Of course, this invitation is also extended to our autocross buddies- both to attend the meetings and to join the Westchester Sports Car Club and to take part in all our activities.
